Instagram has become the go-to social media site for sharing photos and videos. If you want to post something from your computer, you’ll need to download the free Instagram app.
Instagram was founded in 2010 and now boasts over 500 million users worldwide. The photo-sharing service allows users to share pictures and videos with friends and family through their smartphone or desktop.
You can upload images directly from your computer using the Instagram mobile app. Simply open the app, click the camera icon at the bottom left corner, then select the image file you want to upload.
If you prefer to use a web browser instead of an app, you can still upload images by visiting instagram.com/upload. Here’s how:
1. Open your favorite web browser, such as Google Chrome or Firefox.
2. Click on the “Upload” button located near the top right corner of the page.
3. Select the image file that you want to upload. You may also drag and drop files into the box if you have them already saved on your computer.
4. Enter a caption for your picture. This is optional but recommended so people know what they’re looking at.
5. Tap the blue “Save Image” button when you are finished.
6. Wait until the image has been successfully uploaded before viewing it.
7. To view your newly posted image, tap the thumbnail of the image you just uploaded.
8. Scroll down to see more recent posts.
9. Tap the name of any user who commented on one of your previous posts.
10. Tap the heart icon next to any comment you like.
11. Tap the “Follow” button next to any account you’d like to follow.
12. When you’ve finished browsing through all of your new posts, tap the home icon at the top left corner of the screen.
13. Scroll up to return back to the main Instagram feed.
14. Repeat steps 1 – 13 to keep browsing and posting!
15. Once you’ve completed uploading all of your images, close out of the website.
16. Download the Instagram app onto your phone or tablet.
17. Launch the app and log in using your Facebook credentials.
18. Find the camera icon at the very bottom of the app.
19. Tap the camera icon to take a new photo or video.
20. Choose whether you want to add a filter to your photo or not.
21. Tap the square button to save your image or video.
22. Share your creation via email, text message, Twitter, Facebook, or other apps.
